They are trendy, produce no waste gases and are now a real bestseller. Over 600,000 e-bikes were sold in Germany in the past year alone. Lots of companies are using special mobility concepts to incentivise their employees to switch to an e-bike. This trend is still supported by the current pandemic situation. «With the charging station, the switch to e-mobility is now becoming even more attractive,» explains Thur Metall sales manager Peter Kretz. Ultimately, besides enabling any valuables and other objects to be locked away, the smart cabinet allows fast, convenient charging of rechargeable e-bike batteries and other battery-powered devices that are ubiquitous nowadays.

Given its low installation depth of only 500 mm, there should be space for the cabinet and its electrical added benefits practically anywhere. In addition to companies and administrative environments, Kretz can also imagine it being used in schools, universities, airports, the hotel and catering industry, and other public buildings: «The high quality of the product, which is customary for Thur Metall, as well as the variety of options available due to our extensive colour palette speak in its favour. Furthermore, each compartment is protected by a residual current circuit breaker and a line circuit breaker. In addition, the entire construction offers tested IP44 splash water protection in accordance with DIN EN 60529.“ Last but not least, according to Kretz, the cabinet is an interesting complementary product in the field of e-mobility, with which additional revenue can be generated.
